Actor Michael B. Johnson was named the Sexiest Man Alive for 2020 by People’s Magazine.

The 33-year-old actor, who started off his career as a child model, has been critically acclaimed for his performances in ‘The Black Panther’ as the villan Erik Killmonger and ‘Creed’ as boxer Adonis Creed. However, he came into the limelight for his stellar performances on television on the series “The Wire” and “Friday Night Lights.”

His name was revealed on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” late-night talk show in which the actor appeared wearing a yellow hazmat suit and a helmet with a smiley face on it.

“It’s a cool feeling,” he said to People, about winning the title. “You know, everybody always made that joke, like, ‘Mike, this is the one thing you’re probably not going to get.’ But it’s a good club to be a part of.”

Other recent winners of this title include John Legend in 2019, Idris Elba in 2018, Blake Shelton in 2017, Dwayne Johnson in 2016, and David Beckham in 2015.

People’s Magazine has been awarding the title of The Sexiest Man Alive since 1985 and the inaugural winner was Mel Gibson. The first black man to earn the title was Denzel Washington in 1996. Actors Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, and George Clooney have all been awarded the title twice.
