7-year-old included in Australian cricket squad against India

In a heartwarming gesture, the Make-A-Wish Australia Foundation has made the dreams of a young cricketing enthusiast come true. Archie Schiller, a seven-year-old leg-spinner, has been inducted in the Australian national cricket team. He will co-captain the team alongside Tim Paine in the Boxing Day test to be played at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.

At just three months old, little Archie was diagnosed with faulty heart valves. Due to his condition, he had to undergo rigorous surgeries at a tender age. Unfortunately, he also misses school and cannot play much. When his father once asked him what he wanted to become when he grew up, the cricket-lover Archie replied that he wanted to captain the national cricket team. The Make-A-Wish Australia foundation, on learning upon this dream, then did all it could help it turn into a reality.

Isn’t it amazing that his dream is coming true? We’ll certainly be cheering for him on the cricket field.
