The 100 best films of the 21st century by Guardian

Guardian recently released its list of ‘100 best films of the 21st century’ and it was a fantastic mix of art, history, sci-fi, and reality.

The list was topped by ‘There Will Be Blood’ (2007) that was written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. For his intriguing performance, Daniel Day-Lewis was awarded the Academy Award. At number two position was another Academy Award-winning movie – 12 Years a Slave, directed by Steve McQueen. This was followed by the coming-of-age drama written and directed by award-winning director Richard Linklater – Boyhood.

Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight became the only comic book movie to make it to the list. It was placed at the 98th spot. Meanwhile, the only Indian movie on the list was Gangs of Wasseypur, an Indian crime film directed by Anurag Kashyap.
