The Duke of Cambridge, Prince William has narrated a 60-second film encouraging soccer fans to take care of their mental health and well being.

The short film will be played in stadiums before the start of the English FA Cup third-round matches to be played this weekend.

The film will also be broadcast on TV and online and the kickoff times for the matches will be delayed by 60 seconds.

Starring leading soccer stars such as Harry Maguire, Alex Scott, Dele Alli, Jordan Pickford, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Son Heung-Min and Hamza Choudhury, the movie is a collaborative effort between Public Health England’s (PHE) Every Mind Matters and the Football Association and Heads Together’s Heads Up campaign.

The Heads Together campaign was launched by Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex in 2016. It was initiated with the aim to end the stigma and taboo around mental health.

Prince William is the President of the English Football Association and has been a staunch advocate of mental well being.

In the movie, William says, “In life, as in football, we all go through highs and lows.”

“We can all sometimes feel anxious or stressed. At moments even the little things can seem a struggle. But we can all start to change things.”

“Every Mind Matters and Heads Up will show you the simple steps you can take to look after your mental health – helping to boost your mood, improve your sleep and feel ready for life’s ups and downs.”
