Gear Up for the Super Blood Wolf Moon!

Skygazers are super excited about the super blood wolf moon that is due on 20 and 21 January this year. And why that name? This is an amalgamation of three events – a wolf moon, a blood moon, and a super moon! Read on to know more.

So, in January, the full moon is generally referred to as the wolf moon. Further, because of the total lunar eclipse, the moon will get a reddish colour and this is when the moon is called a blood moon. Finally, because the moon is closer to the Earth, it will appear 30 per cent brighter and 14 per cent bigger than usual. This phenomenon is called a supermoon.

All of this put together is the phenomenon called super blood wolf moon!

This event can be viewed across America, parts of Europe, and Africa. However, it will not be seen from most parts of Asia.
