How Karl Lagerfeld’s Pet Cat will Roll in the Dough Now

How Karl Lagerfeld's pet cat will roll in the dough now

Talk about being pampered and we will introduce to you Choupette, the prodigal cat of Karl Lagerfeld.

Karl Lagerfeld, the fashion maven who has left an indelible legacy in the fashion world, breathed his last on February 19, 2019, in Paris. Choupette, his pet cat was the apple of his eye. Remarkably, it lived a way better and luxurious life than most of us! This fluffy Burmese cat hogged the limelight often for travelling in private jets, eating in silver plates, and unwinding with the world’s most famous designers and models. It doesn’t end here, Choupette has more Instagram followers than us on its personal Instagram handle!

Choupette has at least two maids dedicated to caring for her. Also, she is taken to the vet every 10 days and she is a downright spoilt child, Lagerfeld had previously acknowledged.

Lagerfeld, the iconic and sometimes eccentric German fashion designer, adopted this adorable white-haired cat from model Baptiste Giabiconi in 2011. In an interview with Numero, Lagerfeld said that his cat is funny, gracious, and pretty to look at. He also added that she makes her presence count in his life by being a constant source of peace that helps him harmonise with his thoughts. He had, on numerous occasions, openly spoken about his love for her.

Choupette is nothing less than a celebrity now. Can you believe that she could be poised to inherit millions of dollars after Karl’s death? Speculations are rife that the eight-year-old white kitten might inherit an estimated $195 million fortune.

Lagerfeld, who had been the creative director of the famous fashion houses Chanel and Fendi, said in a past conversation with the French Magazine Le Figaro that Choupette was an ‘heiress.’ In a 2015 interview, he said, ” If something happens to me, the person who will take care of her will not be in misery.”

Toeing the lines of her daddy, Choupette is a famous fashion icon too. She is the face of Karl Lagerfeld’s own fashion brand named after her. In fact, her face is seen on a lot of the merchandise.

The inheritance Choupette receives from Lagerfeld’s estate will feed fat her own fortune. Following this, she is set to become the wealthiest cat in the world leaving behind a cat named Blackie, who inherited 7 million pounds from his British owner in 1988.

In March 2015, Lagerfeld said in an interview with The Cut that Choupette had already earned $3.18 million euros for her modelling ventures. She modelled for a car brand in Germany and a beauty product in Japan. She started her modelling career back in 2013 when she appeared on one of Harper’s Bazaar’s several October covers.

After the sad demise of Karl Lagerfeld, an obituary was shared on Choupette’s Instagram account which connoted their profound love for each other.

Karl Lagerfeld’s godson Hudson Kroenig, the son of his muse U.S model Brad Kroenig, is next in line to Choupette for the inheritance.

Here’s hoping that Choupette tides over the loss of her beloved daddy soon!
