One of the seven wonders of the world, The Leaning Tower of Pisa has straightened by 4 cms or 1.5 inches after several years of restoration and engineering work done to protect it. According to the surveillance group that oversees the safety of the monument, its tilt is now back to what it was at the start of the 19th century.

The 186-feet tourist attraction in Tuscany, Italy has had a tilt ever since its construction commenced in 1173. However, it had to be closed to the public in 1990, when its tilt reached about 15 feet from vertical. It was reopened only a decade later.
