24-year-old Miss Philippines, Catriona Gray was awarded Miss Universe 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand. To win this 67th Miss Universe Pageant, she left behind 93 other contestants that include runner-up Miss South Africa Tamaryn Green and the second runner-up Miss Venezuela Sthefany Gutierrez.
This is the fourth time a Miss Philippines has reigned supreme in the pageant. She bared her heart in her Facebook account after this monumental win. She revealed that it not only hers, but her mother’s dream come true.
On the educational front, Catriona earned a degree in music theory from Boston’s Berklee’s School of Music. This singer and model who radiates grace, confidence, intelligence, and strength, grew up in Australia. She believes that dreams can be turned into reality through passion, diligence, and determination.
This pageant was also special because it saw participation from the first transgender contestant ever – Miss Spain, Angela Ponce.
