Seven ancient tombs of mummified cats, believed to date back to the Fifth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom that ruled Egypt in 2500 BC, have been discovered in the Egyptian village of Saqqara, Cairo. Along with cats, mummified scarab beetles were also unearthed.
