Barack Obama needs no introduction. The former President of the United States is one of the most loved statesmen in the world. His outstanding character, love for his family, passion for everything he does, fantastic oratory skills, levelheadedness in the toughest of situations, and his charm coupled with empathy and compassion make him one of the most admired men in the world.
Obama recently appeared on the late night talk show ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ to speak about his newly released memoir, A Promised Land. And along with the host Jimmy Kimmel, Obama played an adorable prank on one of his fans.
Joyce Taylor, an auditor from Maryland, is one of Obama’s die-hard fans. And Kimmel’s team tricked her into believing that she would be watching a special screening where she’d watch a pre-recorded clip of the former president reading from his new book.
However, when she came online, she saw President Obama directly speaking to her rather than through a pre-recorded message. The President also made references to her as he was speaking.
“Being the president takes a lot of hard work and sacrifice,” Obama began. “But one of the most rewarding parts of the job was traveling these parts of the United States and meeting the great people that make up this country.”
He then added a reference to Taylor, where he said, “From farmers in Iowa to auto workers in Detroit, to retired auditors from Temple Hills, Md.,” he said. “The retired auditors are actually my favorite. They’re always coming up to me and saying, ‘Oh my god! I love you. My name is Joyce Taylor.’ ”
And the reaction of Taylor when she saw her hero speaking to her directly was priceless.
