Barack Obama’s memoir to be released in November

Former President of the United States Barack Obama announced that the first half of his memoir will be released on 17th November 2020, just two weeks after the presidential election.

Titled ‘A Promised Land,’ the 768-page memoir will be published in 25 languages across the world and will be released by Crown, a division of Penguin Random House.

Obama, the first black president of the United States, served two terms as the President from 2009 to 2017.

“There’s no feeling like finishing a book, and I’m proud of this one,” he tweeted in a post confirming the release of the book.

“In A Promised Land, I try to provide an honest accounting of my presidency, the forces we grapple with as a nation, and how we can heal our divisions and make democracy work for everybody.”

The book is the first of two volumes of memoirs by the former president and the publishing date of the second edition has not been confirmed yet.

The book would encompass Obama’s early political career until his election to the Oval Office. It will also throw light on his response to the global financial crisis and his healthcare reform legislation called the Affordable Care Act or Obamacare. It will end with the 2011 US operation to kill the dreaded terrorist and al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

The US hardback edition is priced at $45 while the digital edition will cost $17.99. The audio version of the book is priced at $40 for a download.

The very popular 44th president of the United States has written three previous books, including ‘Dreams From My Father,’ ‘The Audacity of Hope,’ and the children’s book ‘Of Thee I Sing’.
