Vandalism worries have not put the skids on a Silicon Valley-based company in launching UK’s first dockless electric bike hire service. Lime e-bike service, which has been in business in some European and U.S cities, pedals into the UK with a novelty. While e-bike hire services have been in operation in some UK cities, Lime claims it’s the first to offer dockless service, allowing the user to leave the bike ‘responsibly’ anywhere after use. Users need not worry about finding a dock to return the bike. The service available initially in Buckinghamshire’s Milton Keynes charges 1 pound to unlock the motor-assisted e-bike and 15 pence per minute of usage.
