One of F1's finest venues, Spa typically offers a lot of drama. That was unquestionably the case in the early going on Sunday.

In the Belgian GP, Max Verstappen easily overcame his grid penalty by tearing through the track and winning effortlessly.

Verstappen, the current world champion, was among seven drivers to earn a grid penalty at Spa despite being in excellent form all weekend.

Verstappen moved away from teammate Sergio Perez as strategies developed, and the Mexican driver followed the Dutchman home for a Red Bull 1-2 finish.

Red Bull is gaining ground on its rivals in the constructors' championship standings after their victory at Spa. Red Bull currently leads with 475 points.

Verstappen extended his position at the top to 284 points with his win at the Belgian Grand Prix. Sergio Perez maintains second place with 191 points.
