A live-action adaptation of Pinocchio

Tom Hanks and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth starred in a live-action Pinocchio adaptation that made its Disney+ debut on Thursday, Sept. 8.

The Robert Zemeckis movie tells the traditional story of a wooden puppet who aspires to be a real boy in a hybrid, live-action and CGI style.

Hanks portrays the woodcarver Geppetto who sculpts Pinocchio (voiced by Ainsworth), and Cynthia Erivo portrays the Blue Fairy who gives him life.

it also features cheeky pop-culture references and new songs, like “When You Wish Upon a Star” sung by Cynthia Erivo as the Blue Fairy.

Cast: Luke Evans plays The Coachman, Keegan-Michael is "Honest" John, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is Jiminy Cricket, & Lorraine Bracco is Sofia the Seagull.

viewers are given brief meta-information on parenting, education, and the dangers of fame. This blend has some exuberant and humorous moments.

The high-tech remake by Robert Zemeckis stays true to the 1940 original movie and the Italian children's book Pinocchio.

One of the new films making their debuts on Disney+ Day is Pinocchio. The fantasy movie is only available on the platform, and is free for its subscribers.
