Google Unveils Its New Gaming Platform – Stadia

Stadia

Google has now entered the video game race and how! And surprise, surprise! This is a video-game without a console.

Google unveiled its new, cloud-based, digital gaming platform Stadia, which will let players use it across various devices operating on Google’s Chrome browser and Chrome OS. It will work on desktops, laptops, tablets, TVs, and phones. So, with Stadia, you will not be limited to a particular console or a PC when playing games.

While the exact date of launch nor the price was not revealed, it is expected to be out for users towards either the third or fourth quarter of 2019.

Further, in a bid to avoid the complaints coming from gamers about a possible lag due to poor internet connectivity issues, Google has also introduced a controller. This would connect directly to the internet, communicating with Google’s servers independently. The Stadia controller would also come with a YouTube sharing button. So, you can click on the YouTube link and begin playing immediately.

Moreover, the Google Assistant has been integrated with Stadia. You can just press for the assistant button on the Stadia controller and ask for any assistance that you would need with the game.

Google also claims that a single Stadia instance has 10.7 teraflops of GPU processing power. This is more than PS4 Pro and Xbox One X combined. Phew! That is some fantastic news for gamers!
