The Academy Award-winning artist, Lady Gaga is venturing into a new business. Known across the world for her trendsetting and maverick hairstyles and makeup, she is now launching her cosmetics brand, Haus Laboratories. But, just like her music, she is very unconventional in how she is launching her beauty range.
She is doing so using the online retail giant, Amazon, enabling her to reach customers across the world. Haus Laboratories also becomes the first ever major cosmetics brand to be launched by the online behemoth. This move also reinforces Amazon’s interest in the cosmetics and beauty range business.
Lady Gaga took to social media to unveil the campaign regarding the launch of Haus Laboratories, posting a video of models, including herself.
According to reports, her beauty line will include multi-use colour products for cheeks, eyes, and lips.
On choosing Amazon as her partner for the launch of the line, she said, “There are companies that see me, what I stand for and the way that I view the world, and if it’s not perfectly in line with what they do and they’re worried about alienating consumers… They’ll be like, ‘Can you just change half of the equation?’ (which for me is the entire equation) so that we can ‘do a deal,’”
She added: “The answer is no. No deal. No message of self-acceptance, no deal. This [deal with Amazon] was so wonderful because this was like, ‘Let’s make a deal, let’s make a deal to change the world with their beauty.’”
The beauty range will be launched in September in nine countries simultaneously that include the United States of America, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Japan. However, customers will be able to pre-order from 15th July onwards.
We are already waiting to get our hands of these products!
